February 2022 reading and writing

Hello everyone, I hope you are all keeping well!

I’ve been writing, editing and reading all this month – and have lots of exciting news to share on my novel – The Children of Gods and Fighting Men.

Firstly, we had a cover reveal!

I had a few blogger friends help me out with the cover reveal on Twitter – which went really well. The artist, Micaela Alcaino came up with the most amazing cover and everyone was very complimentary.

I also had an interview with Nils from the Fantasy Hive blog. If you want to see our chat – mostly about the inspiration for my book and how I write – check this out.

This month, I also finalised the copy edit. It was a lot of fun (hard work too) and hopefully ARC’s will be ready for reviewers by the end of February. I’m getting very nervous/excited about receiving reviews. 😬 The final stage to go through is the proofreading stage. Then I think the book is off to the printers.

In terms of pre-orders, my book is available in Ireland, Europe, America and parts of Asia. Go to the books tab, if you want to see the links for book stores in your country or Amazon.

Now that The Children of Gods and Fighting Men has been edited, finalising Book 2 is my focus. The writing is well underway – and over the next month or two I am hoping to have it finished! Wish me luck there 😁

These are the books I’ve read over the last couple of weeks. I enjoyed all of them – and I’ve reviewed them as well, so if any catch your eye, check them out.

Sword is the Storm had quite a vibe – and I wrote a blog post about the links I found in the book that related to Irish mythology. If you’ve read this book by David Gemmell, you might have noticed this too.

My current reads are:

Kings of the Wyld – Nicholas Eames

The Girl and the Stars – Mark Lawrence

That’s it for now. Hopefully there will be some more fun information about my book to share next month. Also, I am hoping to have a few more book reviews completed. The next book in The Rigante series and Equinox by David Towsey are top of TBR 📚 If you’ve read any of these books, please let me know your thoughts.

  1. I shared it in the group and pre-ordered. Do you need any blurbs? I’ll blurb it if it will help. I don’t know if a romance author from the states is what your publisher wants.

    1. Oh – I’ll say to them! They’ve been talking about blurbs recently. Thanks for sharing on your group though! Still 6 months away, but it’s crazy. Of course, you know exactly how I feel 😄

  2. I’ve been keeping an eye on your Amazon ranking. Here’s where you were before I shared your book in the group and here’s where you are now!
